How to choose trading indicators without outsourcing judgment
Trading indicators should make a strategy easier to read, test and repeat. They should not replace the strategy. This category includes built-in chart indicators, TradingView scripts, invite-only signal suites, broker-distributed analytics, pattern-recognition products and AI-assisted indicator builders. Those tools can be useful, but only when the trader knows what condition the indicator is supposed to measure.
For TradingView-first traders, the starting point is usually TradingView itself, because its built-in indicators, Pine Script ecosystem and public script library provide a huge base of free and paid tools. If the tool cannot explain why the signal fired, how it behaved historically and when it should be ignored, it is harder to trust in live conditions.
