City Traders Imperium Overview

City Traders Imperium now sells four distinct simulated funding paths: a 1-Step Challenge, 2-Step Challenge, Instant Funding and Instant Funding Pro. The important choice is not the largest advertised balance. It is whether your strategy fits a trailing or static drawdown, the payout gate and the cost of skipping an evaluation.

This review was checked against CTI’s official program pages, comparison material and legal terms on July 18, 2026. Prices and coupon codes can change at checkout. CTI describes these as simulated trading services; an account balance is not cash deposited into a personal brokerage account.

The four routes solve different problems

RouteEvaluationCore drawdownAdvertised entryBest fit
1-StepOne phase5% trailingFrom $29Low entry cost and one target
2-StepTwo phases10% static plus 5% dailyFrom $39Traders who value a fixed overall floor
InstantNone6% staticFrom $79Immediate access with milestone scaling
Instant ProNoneCheck selected planFrom $229Higher-cost direct route and faster payout access

The “from” figures are official headline prices for the smallest available sizes when checked. They are not representative prices for a 50K or 100K account. The exact fee, balance and rules must be compared on the same account size before purchase.

1-Step has the easiest entry and the most sensitive floor

The 1-Step Challenge has an 8% profit target, no evaluation time limit and a minimum of three profitable days on the current purchase table. CTI permits news trading and advertises profit share from 80% up to 100% after qualification.

Its main weakness is the 5% maximum trailing drawdown. CTI’s own program comparison describes it as a trailing limit based on maximum trailing drawdown. As the account makes gains, the loss threshold can move upward. A trader who gives back open or closed profit may therefore have less room than the original account size suggests.

This route fits a trader who can make progress without large equity swings. It is a poor match for strategies that build floating profit, scale into positions or routinely give back several percent before closing.

2-Step adds work but gives a static overall limit

The 2-Step route uses a 10% target in phase one and 5% in phase two, according to CTI’s current program comparison. Its overall maximum loss is 10% static, while the daily maximum is 5%. A static floor does not rise with each new account high, which makes the available risk easier to model than a trailing threshold.

The cost is an additional evaluation phase and a daily limit. Traders must monitor equity, not merely closed trades, because a floating loss can breach risk rules. Unlimited evaluation time reduces the pressure to force trades just to meet a calendar deadline.

For many methodical traders, this is CTI’s most understandable structure. A fixed overall floor can be worth more than the time saved by one phase, particularly for swing systems with uneven return paths.

Instant funding skips the test, not risk control

CTI’s standard Instant Funding page advertises no evaluation, no daily drawdown, a 6% static maximum drawdown and scaling when a trader reaches a 10% milestone. It also permits news trading and overnight or weekend holding. The published account table ranges from small starting balances to larger packages, with fees increasing sharply by size.

“Instant funded” does not mean unrestricted capital. Trading still occurs under CTI’s simulated rules and the trader must preserve the 6% floor. CTI says the balance can double at each 10% milestone and advertises scaling as high as $4 million across permitted allocations. That is a program ceiling, not a guaranteed allocation.

Instant Pro is marketed as the premium direct route, beginning at a higher fee and emphasizing quicker withdrawal access. Because payout and plan details can differ from standard Instant, buyers should save the exact checkout rules rather than transferring conditions from one product to the other.

Payout timing has conditions behind the headline

CTI advertises first withdrawals from seven days on its current challenge tables. Its published comparison says challenge accounts require profitable trading days and a minimum profit threshold before a first payout, followed by a schedule rather than unlimited daily withdrawals.

For standard Instant accounts, CTI’s payout material describes a minimum activity and profit gate before withdrawal and a bi-weekly cycle after eligibility. Instant Pro is presented as the route with on-demand initial access, followed by its stated schedule. These conditions matter more than a large “up to 100%” split: a split has value only after the account remains eligible and a payout is approved.

The standard share begins below the maximum. CTI links higher shares to progression and VIP status. Do not calculate expected income using 100% from the first trade unless the purchased terms explicitly grant it.

The academy is useful, but it is a separate value question

All current funding routes advertise access to CTI Academy. This is CTI’s clearest distinction from firms that sell only an evaluation dashboard. Education may help a developing trader create a process, but it cannot turn an untested strategy into an economically sensible challenge purchase.

CTI Academy’s terms identify CTI FZCO in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as the legal entity behind the educational brand. Current evaluation terms also identify City Traders Imperium as a trade name of CTI FZCO. The previous TradingToolsHub claim that this was a Cape Town-headquartered South African firm is therefore no longer appropriate.

Markets, automation and holding flexibility

CTI advertises forex, indices, metals, commodities and crypto on its direct program material. Algorithmic and EA trading are supported, subject to prohibited-strategy and account rules. News trading is allowed on the current challenge and Instant descriptions, and Instant permits overnight and weekend positions.

Platform availability can depend on product and jurisdiction. Traders should confirm the platform shown for their selected account at checkout and test execution before using normal size. A statement that every route universally includes MT4 and MT5 would be unsafe because platform access changes more often than core program names.

What the fee really buys

The fee buys access to an evaluation or simulated funding program under a contract. CTI’s legal material states that it is not a broker, dealer, exchange or investment adviser and does not accept client deposits. The firm can use evaluation fees, risk controls and payout review to operate the program; the trader’s mission is different—to receive more in approved payouts than they spend on challenges, direct accounts and replacements.

That incentive difference is not proof of wrongdoing. It is a reason to budget purchases as a cost, avoid repeated impulsive resets and keep independent records of every rule attached to the order.

Who each route is for

Choose 1-Step if low entry cost and a single target matter most, and your system keeps drawdown shallow as profits accumulate. Choose 2-Step if you prefer a static overall floor and can tolerate two targets plus a daily-loss limit.

Choose Instant only if a tested strategy makes the higher upfront fee rational and can operate inside a 6% static cushion. Consider Instant Pro only after confirming that its payout advantage is worth the additional price for the exact account size.

None of the routes suits a trader who has not converted the percentage limits into dollars, defined risk per trade and modelled losing streaks. Start with the smallest economically meaningful size, not the largest advertised balance.

Our assessment

City Traders Imperium has a longer operating history than many retail prop brands and offers genuinely different paths rather than cosmetic account labels. The 2-Step static floor, flexible holding rules on Instant, education access and explicit simulated-account disclosures are positives.

The concerns are rapidly changing promotions, complex progression behind the maximum profit split, trailing drawdown on 1-Step and the high absolute cost of larger direct accounts. CTI is most compelling for forex and CFD-style traders who value education and deliberately choose a drawdown model. It is not automatically the best choice simply because the homepage advertises $4 million scaling or 100% profit share.
